Don’t forget to go to critical mass this friday. Radical Bike Group London calls for smart dress, so if you still have that wedding dress or that pin-stripe suite in your possession you may find this friday the appropriate event to wear it once again.

Bike Ride to Brighton Arms Fair on 4th of June

The Radical Bike Group London is joining the Carnival against the arms trade in Brighton.

We will cycle there from Brixton Oval (meet in front of ritzi movie theater) from 6:00am, leaving 6:15am latest. If you want to join us, just come along, bring your bike, friends and some snacks for the road if you like.

Quote from the Schnews announcement for the Carnival:

The Smash EDO campaign would like to invite you to join a Carnival Against the Arms Trade. The Carnival will be a big, lively and interactive experience featuring live music, a critical mass bike ride (which will meet slightly earlier at 11.30 by Brighton train station), and other creative festivities of resistance. You are strongly encouraged to bring your own
whistles – instruments – banners – masks or anything else you can think of. The event will have a theme of red to symbolise the victims of the arms trade.

So far this year has been a hectic but successful one for the Smash EDO, especially with the campaign film ‘On the Verge’ touring the country (despite heavy police repression). The Carnival will be a great, fun opportunity to show EDO that the movement is bigger than ever and growing.

Amsterdam Ride from 11th of June to 21st of June

The Radical Bike Group London is cycling to Amsterdam from 11th of June till 21st of June:

Day1+2, 11th+12th: London to Harwich 80 miles in two days. Stay halfway in Colchester or Chelmsford. Cycle route 1, and a bit of 51.

Day3, 13th: Ferry 9:00am. Seven hours latter arrive Hook van Holland late afternoon. Go past supper-market, and cycle till just before sun sets and play on beach then rough camp in dunes. :0) (after first 15 miles ish)

Day4, 14th: Ride to a community or Amsterdam. (Hook Van holland to Amsterdam is 50 miles total)

Day5, 15th+16th: Bikes, Bikes, Bikes and being Amsterdam TOURists!

Day7, 17th: Ride half way back to hook van holland along coast again or inland.

Day8, 18th: Catch ferry at 2:30PM, arrives 10PM, camp near Harwich.

Day9+10, 19th-20th: Two full days to get back to London.

People who wanted to do 6 days could meet us in harwich for 9:00AM crossing on Friday the 13th and get train back 10:00PM Wednesday the 18th.

COST for Ferry
£38.00 quid return (It’s £60.00 each without a group of ten)
£380.00 for ten people.

Bike Film Night on Thursday, 5th of June @ pikipiki shack

The 5th of June (Thursday) will be the 4th Bike Film Night the Radical Bike Group London will do and it’s gonna be in the pikipiki shack (bowl court squat see on google maps), starting at 8pm.

We’ll show “Even the Girls“, “Bike Like you mean it” and maybe some more + we serve tea and some ca(c)ke. Feel free to bring along cake, snacks or drinks to share as well.

Bike Film Night on 7th of may in Shoreditch

Another Bike Film Night is happening in the new Squat in Shoreditch on Bowl Court (see on google maps), starting at 8pm.

We’ll show Belleville Rendez-Vous (see imdb for details), some other small movies, serve tea and some cake.
